This past August, my greater family decided to once again congregate in Sanibel. This is a tradition that began in 1978 and which has evolved over the decades from family vacation to a kind of family reunion in stages.
Sanibel is a special place. It’s slow pace creates a vacation experience that’s hard to find these days. In the 1970’s and 1980’s, laws were enacted to protect the island from commercialization and invasive species. In fact, most of the island is a comprised of the J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
In any case, as usual, my word don’t do justice to all the pictures. Check out this album for the complete set.
